Girls basketball dominates Z-M
The Lake City Tiger girls came out slow against Zumbrota-Mazeppa Jan. 10 at home, but prevailed to dominate the Cougars in a 62-36 win.
Z-M took an early 13-4 lead forcing Coach Clay Olstad to call a timeout for Lake City. Mya Shones stepped up with a couple of key plays for the Tigers including a nice jump shot from the free throw line. Shones grabbed a rebound and hustled down the flower to get the basket, getting fouled and going to the line for a 3-point play. Natalie Bremer then hit a 3-pointer for Lake City to pull the Tigers within two.
