Girls basketball team overcomes slow start to win season-opener

After opening their season on the wrong end of a 10-0 run, the Lake City High School girls basketball team bounced back to defeat Zumbrota-Mazeppa 53-48.

The Tigers took the lead with three minutes left in the first half and never relinquished it, according to first year head coach Drew Olinger.

“Even though we had a slow start, we were still getting very good shots in our offense,” Olinger said. “They just didn’t start to go in until about five minutes into the game.”
