Girls golf opens season with 12 stroke win
The Lake City Tigers girls golf team, ranked third in the preseason Class AA MGA ratings, kicked off their season with a 12-shot victory in the Mt. Frontenac Invite on April 22.
The Tigers fired a 341, followed by Northfield 353, Park 367, Eastview 372, East Ridge 372, Kasson-Mantorville 384, Lake City junior varsity (JV) 402, Rosemont 402 and Byron 443.
Molly Stevens of Northfield was medalist with a 73. Ava Wallerich Marah Rothgarn and Jordana Windhorst Knudsen placed second, third and 10th individually in a field of 52 players.
