Girls tennis team bound for state after winning Section 1A
The Lake City Girls Tennis team claimed the Section Championship with an impressive victory over Cannon Falls, earning their spot in the State Tournament.
On Monday, Oct. 6, the Tigers opened the day with a strong semifinal performance, winning four matches against Waseca to advance to the championship round.
In singles play, Rylee Thieren vs. Vivian Mader 6-4, 3-3 (retired); Thérèse Bauer topped Ava Miller 6-1, 6-2; Gemma Bauer beat Pearl Moore 6-1, 6-0; and Emma Siert won over Layla Keith 6-1, 6-0.
