Pine Island hands Tiger boys 87-80 loss

A 13-0 run spanning both halves proved key as five Pine Island starters finished in double-figures in an 87-80 victory over Lake City last Monday night.

A frantic pace over the first three minutes saw the lead change hands five times as Pine Island made five of its first seven field goal attempts, while Lake City made six of its first nine attempts from the field.

Gavyn Lorenson had 11 early points for the Tigers and had a great assist to find Colter Hegge for a basket that gave Lake City a 24-23 lead with 6:02 to play until halftime.
