Speech team wins home meet, prepares for conference war of words

The Lake City High School speech team won its home meet, “Eye of the Tiger,” on March 12.

Out of a six-team field, Lake City was first with 59 points, followed by Stewartville with 47.5. Wabasha-Kellogg took third place with 45 points.

Two Lake City contestants won their respective categories. Carl Rol placed first in Great Speeches. Victor Holland won the Extemporaneous Speaking title.

Sarah Ziebarth placed second in Storytelling, as did Anna Walker and Aria Carlson in Duo Interpretation.
