Tennis tandem competes at state; wins 2 in consolations
The much anticipated return trip to the state tournament became reality when Ashley Thieren and Ava Wallerich earned a spot by finishing second in the Section 1A individual tournament Oct. 16 as doubles partners in girls tennis.
The tandem has found success playing as doubles partners since their first trip to state in 2015. They repeated that success in 2017 and again this season. Throughout the tennis season Thieren and Wallerich have played singles tennis for the Tigers, switching over to doubles for tournament play.
