Tigers hold off hot Pine Island

Pine Island came into Tuesday night’s game at Lincoln High School as the hottest team in southeast Minnesota, having won nine straight contests.  The Panthers, with a victory, would have pulled even with Lake City in the Hiawatha Valley League Gold Division.  In one of the biggest regular season games in years, it was the hot-shooting Tigers who rose to the occasion and pulled away down the stretch for a key 63-49 win.
