Chickens lose ground, ordinance fails again

It’s isn’t chickens that local officials hate. It’s skunks. And chickens attract skunks.

And that being the case, an attempt to approve raising back yard chickens in Lake City failed for a second time Monday night on a 5-2 vote. The vote the first time was 4-3.

Several council members switched positions as they deliberated a proposal from a small group of residents who want to raise chickens in their back yard.
